How to Make Custom-Fit Bras shows how to make bras that are custom fit to a woman's unique shape, starting with a pattern for a Bra Sloper. The Bra Sloper can be used to create garments that closely follow the shape of the bust whether they be undergarments, swim wear, casual clothes, or formal attire.

The shape of the breasts can be adjusted while the Bra Sloper is being made for different looks such as a pushup bra. This means a person might have one Bra Sloper for everyday wear, another for special occasion evening clothes, and another for active sports such as running or exercising. The amount of shaping will depend on both the size and age of the breasts.

After the Bra Sloper is created, individual bras can be designed by following a special three-dimensional patternmaking approach I developed. For most of these bra designs very little additional fitting should be required. For an introduction to this new approach to patternmaking, see an Overview of the Process.

How to Make Custom-Fit Bras includes instructions for both making the patterns and sewing Bra Slopers and finished bras. Measurements are given in inches and centimeters. Procedures for making front closing bras for people with physical limitations are included. The instructions have been written so a woman can create slopers and bras for herself on her own. However, some steps are easier to follow with a helping hand.
